I just finished reading my first Emerson Rose book, but it will not be my last I absolutely LOVED IT!! I could keep reading Major Steele and Violet's story until they're old, wrinkled with spiky hair! I laughed, cried, giggled, was shocked and just plain didn't want to put it down. Even at the end I wanted MORE! It was well written and flowed together seamlessly.Major Steele runs a tight ship, everything has its place but that's how Marines are. He's a little anal about it sometimes, but it gets him through his day and his soldiers know the deal. Major doesn't do relationships anymore, just one night stands in hotels where no one gets hurt and absolutely no exchanging phone numbers. He has to make a stop at Target to get a few last minute things that throw off his precise schedule (which he cannot have), and literally crashes into a beautiful, sexy, spunky woman. He's meeting two fellow Marine friends for dinner and a few drinks where he's hoping he can find someone to break his dry streak, but he cannot get that woman out of his mind. He literally collides with Violet there again, but this time he's not letting her walk away without finding out just what it is about her that makes it so he cannot get her out of his head!
Violet Washington a software programmer is in Oceanside to be a bridesmaid for the eighth time (always the bridesmaid, never the bride) for her little brother’s best friends wedding. She's sworn off long-term relationships and only has one-night stands because she has horrible luck with men, but this week will be perfect for finding a one-night stand. After arriving in town Violet stops at Target to get a few essentials she's forgotten at home, which is where she runs into an arrogant sexy as hell Marine. Out celebrating with the pre-wedding party, she has another collision with the sexy Marine.

Real life. Its not neat, with lists we stick to rigidly. There are intermissions and well stuff. Unpredictable. There are body blows, and you know in your own life, the hits seem to keep on coming. Body blows and upper cuts. Sudden unexpected events that make you bend over and grab your knees. How much more we ask, as did Violet and the Major. But always we wake up and try to get it right. And when there is true love, You try again. Very intense and wonderful read. There was a phrase in the movie The Mexican. The heroine asks If two people love each other, but they just can't seem to get it together, when do you get to that point of enough is enough?" The Male Friend, "Never." Yes, I really liked this book.

All the other issues Major had and his history.When I read a book that makes me laugh out loud, and cry, and say are you kidding me? It's gotta be some book. I purchased two more of your books. The Major Is definitely an Alpha male with issues. Violet has her own issues, but boy the chemistry is off the charts. You write during the week and work at the hospital on the weekends and raise your family, a fabulous example of female empowerment!!!! I LOVED YOUR BOOK!!!!!! IF YOU LOVE INTERRACIAL ROMANCES READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!! Emerson Rose you are the Best. 10 STARS if I could give it to you.I Will definitely keep up with all the interracial romances you write because that's my favorite genre.!!!!!!!!!!😊
You know that you will enjoy a book when 1/3 in and you are checking the location because you do not want the book to end. I kept putting it down because I did not want it to end, lol. I loved that the author took command of her story and gave both perspectives so that you could understand the behavior and actions of the characters. I loved that the author did not go for unnecessary angst and the few moments of angst was legitimate. I love the sex scenes, they were smoking!. And most important, the woman was real, claimed her sexuality and simply loved another person who had issues; however, the author did not need to make one less so that the other could be more. I loved the mother/daughter moments, they were funny. Loved the various twists and turns and the sub characters. This book is a steal at .99 cents. I got it through Unlimited and had to immediately purchase because it is going to be part of my re-read collection. This was a great read....loved it.
This story is really different, it is not at all what I expected, but it is really good. Major has some really serious issues. He's a Marine with OCD, a n d PTSD. He's also a father with a daughter who doesn't live with him. Violet is a remarkable, caring, and upbeat woman, and both Major and Violet has decided they only will do one night stands, no emotions, relationships, and no commitments! Well that is until they literally collides into each other and tips the axis, these two are drawn to each other and continues to cross each other's path. They have an attraction and love that is sizzling! With the Major's issues, Violet doesn't back down from a challenge, no matter the obstacles. Major and Violet are simply made for each other. The story is well written with a strong plot, there are some things that weren't addressed, like what's the outcome Major's sister's health, what happens to the sister's spouse? The ending is light and cute. I would like to read a follow-up about the Major and Violet, as well as their growing family.
